Earth Day Themed Coordinate

Today is Earth Day, and to celebrate (aside from participating in environmental activities earlier) I decided to create a coordinate based on nature! This particular outfit draws serious inspiration from another kind of Japanese street fashion called "mori", a style that utilizes plenty of earthy tones, contrasting textures, and layers upon layers for a warm kind of look. I've been wanting to try to mix mori and lolita styles for a while, and today was the perfect opportunity!

Santa Barbara Part 2

This post is far overdue - I've just had a very busy week and am finally getting around to it.

My Saturday in Santa Barbara was quite fun! I wore one of my favorite Liz Lisa dresses, but unfortunately didn't get any good photos of myself wearing it - but here's a detail photo of the cute chiffon print, delicate pintucks, and the adorable lace!

My mother and I visited the beach near noon.

My mom stares dramatically at the pier.

We then visited the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center, which was very small but cute and fun anyways! I got to pet a baby shark and visit their jellyfish exhibit.

Afterward, we went to high tea at The Four Seasons hotel, where I met a girl wearing lolita fashion - it was such a lovely coincidence!

Our table! Complete with lovely china.

A tower of treats.

Sunday was a lazy day - we spent the morning relaxing and packing, then flew back.

Overall, it was a wonderful trip. I'm so glad I got to spend such quality time with my mother! I will cherish the memories forever!

Santa Barbara Part 1

On Wednesday morning, I flew into Santa Barbara with my mom!

She's going to kill me for posting this picture.

We decided not to check into our inn immediately - instead, we walked around State Street (the main street in downtown Santa Barbara) where we shopped, ate a delicious lunch, and visited a chocolate store.

After our preliminary exploration of the area, we headed to our inn. Our room was cat-themed, with decorations of cats everywhere! There was also a book on the desk called "Where to Go In Britain", and Durham University was in it! I felt so proud.

There is a Jacuzzi/spa tub in our room! Too bad we can't use it, because of the drought.

The next day (Thursday) we went to the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens! There were many cute critters, beautiful flowers, and towering redwoods.

A lizard that posed for me in the Desert area!

A ladybug.

Some bell flowers in the woods.
And finally, today, we visited Mission Santa Barbara. It was very beautiful!

I'm still here for two more days - hopefully they will be as fun-filled as the past few have been!
